Karim, A Persian artist supports SIVA4KIDS

Posted on 06 November 2006 by S4K

Karim is a Persian artist from Tuscany that supports¬†SIVA4KIDS.org with an abstract oil painting. He dedicates his artwork “La Tigre Incorniciata – The Framed Tiger” to support the mission of Siva for Kids Foundation.

He has been looking for a foundation which work from the heart to save children and among his search he found it through a friend and the SIVA4KIDS.org’s other artists contributions very similar to what he was looking for therefore we are very proud to present another artwork of the project ART4KIDS. All offers for this abstract oil painting are considered for charity.

He said:”Abstract art is the most forgiving style of all, because anything goes, as long as your abstract artwork can give you the feeling you have expressed yourself. We forgive quickly the reality that surrounds us. This tiger wants to be a reminder for everybody, now she is behind the frames but the tiger should suddenly come out. Like Tsunami did. That is why we do have to remember and not to forgive easily”.

Due to the contribution of our official P.R. Domenico La Ferla, the project Art4Kids welcomes another artwork.
Domenico says: “Karim is a great artist and friend. I knew this artist some years ago in Florence and I got in touch with him. When I look at his artworks, I can remember the words of wisdom he used to say. In his sentences there is a kind of signal that tells the future. He is definitely an artist, the abstract one”.¬†

Kyoko Yamaji supports SIVA4KIDS

Posted on 26 October 2006 by S4K

Kyoko Yamaji is the first japanese artist to take part to our project Art4Kids. Our Worldwide P.R. (Domenico La Ferla) got in contact with this artist to thank her personally. She replied: “It’s me to thank you for the wonderful project. I would be happiest if I can do something for others as an artist. I would love to do something for disadvantaged children and young people in conditions of underdevelopment, war, poverty or natural disaster. I trust you, the professionals for the operation because I can’t do anything by myself. Also, the founder of S4K was an artist, so I feel an affinity with S4K“.

Other artist and known personalities who have already supported the goal and mission of Siva for Kids Foundation are: Lucio Parrillo, the young upcoming marvel-artist from Italy, Marina Varouta, the young upcoming artist from Germany, Bombay Rockers, the world famous boyband of Denmark,  PadmaShri Hariharan, a very respected personality of Indian classical music and  play back singer of Indian films industry and Martin Joergensen, who is a professional (FC Fiorentina) football personality of Denmark.

Kyoko is a well-known artist in Japan, where she collected many awards. Since 2002, she is taking part to International Art Fairs and Group Shows. She describes herself with some simple words full of emotions: “I’m a self-taught artist, born and brought up mostly in Tokyo, Japan and in the United States for a short time. I have been an art lover since my early age, but I didn’t feel like painting until I was strongly influenced by African charm. Traveling to mid eastern Africa was a precious experience in my life. I gained enthusiasm from the beauty, toughness and love of human beings and wild animals.

¬†I also paint images inspired by music, movies, and also from my own experience or sympathy to others. Recently I was again strongly influenced by the warmth and cheerfulness of Caribbean people, especially “the happiest people in the world” in Puerto Rico. My theme and style may change along the way, meeting people, traveling, how I feel, and such. Anyway, I am pursuing to express touching feelings, scenes and impressions in my style”.

Through her words, we can also feel the colours of her art. She describes the feeling regarding the artwork “Into The Light” available in our Shop4Kids: “This is what I felt in Africa. I couldn’t do anything. I wished to bring naked children in the street to a world where there is no sorrow, no hunger and no fear, a beautiful place filled with love and peace”.

We are proud to welcome an emotional artist like Kyoko and we invite other artists like her to join our project Art4Kids.

Stars of Bharati Show and Indian Idol support SIVA4KIDS

Posted on 04 September 2006 by S4K

bharati_smallBharati is music and a dance sensation from India. After Paris, Marseille, Geneve and Brussel was this spectacular performance, which containes more then 100 artists, to be seen and explored at the Luxortheater in Rotterdam, The Netherlands,¬†from 1st of September til 17 September, 2006.¬†The show is a magical musical which tells the tale of India and it’s many wonders to the western audience in a very colorful and with a blend of eastern mystical dance mixed with the music inspired by the Bollywood style. During and after the show the main role stars of this spectacular show took their time to support the causes of Siva for Kids Foundation by holding/showing the MUSIC4KIDS Album which was gifted to the representative stars of the show.

Other artist and known personalities who have already supported the goal and mission of Siva for Kids Foundation are: Bombay Rockers, the world famous boyband of Denmark,  PadmaShri Hariharan, a very respected personality of Indian classical music and  play back singer of Indian films industry and Martin Joergensen, who is a professional (FC Fiorentina) football personality of Denmark.

What is Bharati?
‘Bharati’ is a musical extravaganza, a delectable composite mix of the varied dances, music and folk traditions of India. Over the space of 90 minutes, the audience is guided through a brief but scintillating sampling of India’s rich and breath-taking diversity. Though just a glimpse, the selections hint at the hidden treasures of this vast and enchanting land; its regional, linguistic, historical and philosophical diversity; its myriad peoples, life-styles and traditions.

Due to continuous reinvention and renewal, these traditions appear to be in a state of constant flux. A taste of this infinite variety is offered in a show that is at once entertaining and intriguing. In making the selection, one of the guiding principles has been the search for elements with enduring appeal.

Music, dance and performance traditions have shaped the ‘collective consciousness’ of the Indian diaspora worldwide, and kept India alive in its collective imagination. Ingredients of popular culture have served as inspiration and link to Indian traditions and heritage. This show is at once a celebration of the vitality of these traditions and an invitation to sample and participate in their unique energy.

The Show
Derived from ancient Sanskrit theatrical and narrative traditions wherein the Sutradhar (narrator), ‘holds’ the threads of the tale, the audience is guided through a simple but contemporary tale of love and wonder, punctuated by a mix of 14 songs and dances. While the dances serve to induce a state of enchantment, the Sutradhar interweaves the distinct episodes of the plot that culminate in a single question of contemporary relevance. Along with the hero, the audience confronts the dilemma about balancing tradition and modernity.

Evocative of the best story-telling traditions of the East, where stories and anecdotes are framed within other overarching ones, the frames encompass a world in which the magical is normal and the normal is magical. The Sutradhar, a characteristic feature of rambling, multi-story texts, personifies the eternal appeal of a fine tale, well told. Irreverent and witty, the Sutradhar’s clown-like persona also serves to counter the over-emphasis on ‘other-worldly’ elements in Indian society.

Heroes and heroines of Indian tales usually undergo trials and tribulations before being reunited with each other. Veils of illusion that obscure and cloud truth and recognition, miraculously lift to bring about greater clarity of vision to unite the lovers. The songs are not random but establish the mood, set the tone, and offer insights into the mental states of the protagonists, thus moving the plot forward.

The hero’s outward journey parallels a deeper mystical one within the self. The journey must be made to recover roots, reclaim lost pasts and end fragmentation and separation. Unlike voyages motivated by glory and ambition, this story is about the journey within, not to foreign, unknown destinations, but in a reverse direction, towards one’s roots. The search is about the essence of one’s being and existence.

Tantalising glimpses of the eternal are seen in the rapidly changing face of India, displayed on the screens. These reflect the country’s cultural diversity and the myriad influences that have been absorbed and internalized within the fabric of Indian society. Bharati is synonymous with the spirit of India.

Children without hope in Sri Lanka

Posted on 14 August 2006 by S4K

This article is a follow up on an article which was commented by Ceo and founder U.K. Sivanathan on the 27th April this year. Then it was reported on BBC sources that there were 40.000 people were on flee from their homes with their children on their hands to seek for security. Other facts were that the humanity organizations were calling their staff back home from the critical areas.

Current date of 14th of August 2006 according to the Dutch sources (ad.nl) and International source (bbc.co.uk) a very shocking news came from through the channels of LTTE to the international media. After 4 years in peace now 63 school children died due to a bombing of the government soldiers. Please read the article at bbc.co.uk for more details.

15th of August
UNICEF representative Joanna van Gerten went to visit the place of bombarment in Mullaitheevu district and confirmed that it was 61 school children who were the victims of this air strike and she was devasted by the range of bloody and mental  damage it has caused the district people.

Once again what we can conclude from this situation is that children are dieing in Sri Lanka due to the war, before this war, they got orphaned through the natural disaster Tsunami and even before that the children were the true victims of civil war in Sri Lanka.

We, at Siva for Kids Foundation are awaiting for a peaceful solution for both parties so that we as NGO can go on with our unfinished work in the northern pennsylvania of Sri Lanka as soon possible. We hope that the international committees finally see the facts that we would not be able to fight poverty in any third world countries if we keep awaiting for the war to stop by itself.

The Ceo and founder, U.K. Sivanathan, hope that international peace interested organizations and countries step out and find a peaceful solution before more children dies due to the civil war in Sri Lanka.

Thank you for your attention.
