Lydia Baenen joins SIVA4KIDS as Project Manager

With her motivation and professionalism, Lydia Baenen is now part of Siva4Kids board and brings to the foundation all her background in project management based on some experiences in foreign countries (Ecuador, India and Mexico). The micro-projects “Pens4Kids” recently accomplished in Togo were part of a larger portfolio of activities that S4K will generate in this country in the coming years. Lydia will be responsible for “Water4Kids”, a completely new and ambitious project that has the final goal to provide a vital needfor children in poor areas.

Lydia enthusiastic says: “It’s great to join Siva4Kids, I am confident that my support will help us to achieve good results. I am just onboard and I already feel rewarded by the board that assigned me some important projects. I will do my best to pay back this recognition”.

Lydia is already hands-on this new challenge and a detailed description of Water4Kids projects will follow.

Group SIVA4KIDS foundation in Facebook

SIVA4KIDS got some space in the virtual community of Facebook. The group “Siva4Kids Foundation” (link), that represents the organization, is managed by S4K volunteers. Official news and events will be published in this page to reach larger visibility on the internet. Domenico La Ferla says: “Facebook is a growing communication tool daily used by young people. Entering this network will allow us to share ideas with other members in the forum and to keep them updated with news and events”.

After MySpace (link), that helped S4K to reach young artists interested in a cooperation for the project Music4Kids, Facebook will give S4K a stronger presence in the virtual world in order to easily spread messages and to promote future projects.
S4K group has already reached more than 50 members during the first week: thanks to all the supporters and members.

A Festa was back to PARTY4CHARITY in Florence

It was cold in Amsterdam but it was not winter yet. The summer is just started in Brazil and the rainy season seems to be far away. It rains in Florence and it is the time to go out and party for a good cause. Yes, the A Festa team, came together to Party 4 Charity in Florence. Once again the party people doesn’t stop and this time the Brazilian discobar Maracan√† in Florence becomes the ideal atmosphere for the labelled party “A FESTA!”.

This was the second time PARTY4CHARITY of A Festa team formely known as Domenicodellefeste team gathered european multi-cultural and multi-national youth to celebrate the 40.000 visitors of the website Domenicodellefeste.com and to promote the mission of SIVA4KIDS Foundation in Italy for the visitors and networking with other NGO’s in Florence.¬†¬†View the Gallery now.

AC Promotions and Domenicodellefeste.com¬†organized a “one night event” on Friday 26th October in the Priv√© area of the discobar. The event dedicated to Siva4Kids had the main goal to raise for¬†every participant consciousness of the good cause of S4K Foundation.

This was also the best occasion for a reunion of friends living everywhere in Italy and Europe. Also the foundation Common People took part to this event to show their presence and their support, with the hope to set up a future cooperation for projects in Cameroon.

The flyers were distributed during the promotion in some bars, schools and meeting points. A lot of American and Erasmus students joined and enjoyed the party. An international atmosphere as usually happens when Domenicodellefeste and his staff organize parties. This time by celebrating the almost 40000 visitors on the website.

What’s next? The 40000 Party!!! Location is still secret, but “children get scared, the party is coming back” * everywhere!

SIVA4KIDS at the 22nd Milan in The Hague

For the 3rd year the SIVA4KIDS foundation organized the fundraising activity and provided¬†information to the public¬†regarding her mission¬†and her projects in the third world countries.

The foundation provided specifically information about the ongoing project “ICT 4¬†Education” in¬†South America (Suriname),¬†previous projects has¬†also predefined¬†of SIVA4KIDS Foundation¬†as the¬†PC4KIDS*¬†to the visitors of the festival. The dutch version of the brochure can be downloaded now and the english informative part will be published very soon.

@HOME donates 35.000 pens to SIVA4KIDS

@Home, one of the biggest TV-, Internet- and Telephone service provider of The Netherlands, donates 35.000 quality pens to support the mission of SIVA4KIDS.org. The board of Siva for Kids Foundation is very happy and thankful for this donation, which will provide thousands of poor children¬†writing-material¬†in the third world countries for a period of 2-3 years.

On the 24th of Augustus the Ceo and founder U.K. Sivanathan took the pens litterally in hands from the Purchasing Manager of @Home Mr. J. Stortenbeek, at the headquarter/office of @Home in Groningen.¬†In return he got material of SIVA4KIDS.org such as¬†postcards, MUSIC4KIDS V1 album and keyholders.

Through this donation of @Home Company, Siva for Kids Foundation is able to launch several “Micro Projects” in Africa, Asia and South America, which will benefit thousands of very poor children in the 3rd world countries.

The goal of “PENS4KIDS” Project is to support children of primary school, whose parents have low or no income with these school-supply. The board of SIVA4KIDS.org appreciates the action taken by the management of @Home:¬†this the second time in 2007 that Siva for Kids Foundation receives a donation from an institution or a company in the Netherlands.

On¬†January 28th, ROC Amsterdam School donated computers and printer for a PC4KIDS Projects in Suriname, South America.

AUCTION4KIDS on the Queensday in Utrecht

On the Queen’s Day (on April 30 or celebrated on April 29¬†if the 30th is Sunday) is a national holiday¬† in the Netherlands, Aruba and the Netherlands Antilles. It started as a celebration of the Dutch monarchy. It is mainly known for the ‘vrijmarkt’ (literally ‘freemarket’), the one day in the year that anyone is allowed to sell anything in the streets. The night before is celebrated as ‘Koninginnenacht’ (queen’s night).

So the volunteers Claire, Claudia, Juliette, Kees and Nathalie took part to the Auction4Kids activity organized by the founder (U.K. Sivanathan) together with Emmanuel Olivier (Market Development) and Domenico La Ferla (P.R.). to inform about S4K charity organization and fundraising mainly for the ongoing projects in South America for the current moment with¬†items, like¬†second hand laptops, books, cd’s, dvd’s,¬†usb-memory sticks, harmonia, football, tennis balls,¬†clothes, shoes etc. etc. which are donated by friends and volunteers of Siva for Kids Foundation. The message was clear, a banner “United we help” was behind the stand. The people did not hesitate to buy the items and to donate for charity. For sure the bargain was the funniest part of the auction to haggle the prices, but the good purposes triumphed in the end.

The Music4Kids CD was played during the night (available at the stand with the other S4K merchandising items) and sometimes people stepped by just to have a talk about coming projects. The status of the ongoing projects in South America is almost defined, and the Auction4kids gave another little help to increase the funds needed for these two projects (rebuilding a pre-school and building up a PC room).

Afterwards, the funds raised, the fun, and the nice and friendly atmosphere around Siva4Kids had generated a new creative idea: Auction4Kids all year long. Based on this enthusiastic experience, S4K board invites everybody to partecipate to this charity action just giving some old stuff and second hand items. The items will be available for sale through an ebay account and through our stand4charity will take part in the future to other flea markets in the Netherlands. All the money fundraised will be donated 100% for charity purposes.

Fun & Charity together at “A FESTA!”

Saturday 17th of February was celebration day for Carnival in Rio de Janeiro. Here in the Netherlands, the tradition involves a lot of people in Limburg region, mainly celebrated in the towns of Maastricht, Den Bosch and Tilburg. Past Saturday, Utrecht wanted to do it the same way as Brazilian people does. The goal of the party was to unite multicultural community of the Netherlands in one roof in the spirit of Carnival and it was an amazing party with a lots of Brazilian and Afriacan¬†inputs from Capoeira till Samba.

“A FESTA!“ was the party hold in the Trianon (Oudegracht) organised by Domenicodellefeste.com and Talent Talen BV (language school in Ambachtstraat 2 – Utrecht).
This event, that coincides with the 30000 unique visitors in the website, was organized with the purpose of collecting money for the charity foundation Siva for Kids Foundation.

The great success of this event has showed the altruism of the people, that joined the party to celebrate Carnival.

Domenico La Ferla,¬†(PR world wide of S4K and one of the organizers of A FESTA!),¬†talks about the party: “Our idea was to bring in the Netherlands a little bit of Brazil and Africa. People assisted to presentations of Samba Reggae, Zouk and Capoeira, and danced until the end of the party. Our goal was accomplished: having fun and doing charity“.

Same feelings for Gisa Muniz (Director of the school Talent Talen): “A great party, people enjoyed in the Brazilian way, a lot of Dutch people mixed with the Brazilian community of the Netherlands. A successful Carnival Party for a good charity purpose“.

U.K. Sivanathan (Ceo and founder), who joined the first A FESTA! in Utrecht,¬†says “A wonderful party with multi-cultural party people enjoying the atmosphere of Carnival and same time¬†supporting a charity organization is just making this party to a very unique¬†event.¬†Personally I¬†enjoyed every¬†moment of it.¬†Well done and keep up the¬†Afesta spirit alive!“¬†

CARNIVAL4CHARITY organized by Domenico La Ferla

Siva for Kids Foundation is happy to announce an activity which is organized by it’s supporting organization in the Netherlands. An organization, a group of fun loving Europeans friends, who are partying to support the children in third world country through SIVa4KIDS.org. In 2005 this org “Domenicodellefeste.com” organized a party in Florence, in 2006 they were again active in Hotdog4Charity during the Queens day.

In 2007 there are more then ready to make a different through this Carnival4Charity activity in the center of Holland (Utrecht). SIVA4KIDS.org is one of the few sponsors for this activity which brings different nationalities and cultures together. During the Carnival4charity activity a small presentation about Siva4Kids.org and the projects which has been achieved the part and the projects which are waiting to be realized in the future.

The organizer of Carnival4Charity, Domenico la Ferla, who is also the PR & Communications world wide of SIVA4KIDS.org, is looking forward hold a great Carnival4Charity.

Caroline Teller supports SIVA4KIDS

Caroline Teller is a young talented fashion designer. Born in Cologne from a French mother, she decided to follow the dream of her life working in the fashion world. Say Fashion and we better understand the reason why she moved to Italy to improve her skills and gathering experiences in a “fashionist” environment.
Since the early years in Florence she is getting more and more popularity and her vintage” creations are sold all over the world.

Other artists and known personalities who have already supported the goal and mission of Siva for Kids Foundation are:¬† Karim, a Persian artist from Tuscany, ¬†Lucio Parrillo,¬†the young upcoming marvel-artist from Italy, Marina Varouta,¬†the young upcoming artist from Germany,¬†Bombay Rockers, the world famous boyband of Denmark, ¬†PadmaShri Hariharan, a very respected personality¬†of Indian classical music and¬† play back singer of Indian films industry and Martin Joergensen, who is a¬†professional (FC Fiorentina) football personality¬†of Denmark.

Domenico La Ferla contacted her for the project ART4KIDS. She did not hesitate: “If I can do something for a good cause, I want to take part to this charity fundraising activity”. And again: “I trust on this foundation, that I met in the past during the PARTY4CHARITY held in Florence. Since then, I feel part of S4K, feeling involved in every microproject they have”.

Ina Mar supports SIVA4KIDS

Marina Varouta (known as Ina Mar) is the first artist that adheres to¬†ARTS4KIDS fundraising Project of SIVA4KIDS.¬† Born in Athens (Greece), Marina brings her passion for photography and visual arts into computer graphic design. She gives S4K the artwork “He looked death in the face” in which she describes emotions and visions of a Tsunami survivor child.

She said: “The subject of this artwork shows my feelings about Tsunami survivors. I hope that people that share the same feelings will buy this artwork“. Domenico La Ferla (P.R. Worldwide S4K) wants to thank her for the support, and she asserts: “I support the Art4Kids project because I believe in the goal of this foundation, I support Siva4Kids and I will do it again in the future”.

In 2000, Ina Mar created her first experimental series called “Lightcurves”, where she transformed the body into a landscape through lighting effects and the use of accessory objects. Since 2001, she has been exploring the notion of metamorphosis and transforming the representational into abstract through lighting effects, shooting techniques, photomanipulation and other methods. In this passion for metamorphosis, Ina Mar mixes themes and genres; she transforms a sculpture into a painting, a representational photo into an abstract drawing, a woman’s breast into a sunny hill.

She said: “I am a follower of so-called “plastic” photography, i.e, photography that disengages the image from its documentary dimension and imbues the objects or events represented in the image with new form and meaning. The shot, with regard to its technical details, must be taken in such a way that it best serves this transformation”.

Her favorite subjects are; the human body; abstract forms which she sees not only in landscapes, and everyday objects. She is also interested in sculptures of architectural objects; cultural and historical themes (in particular genocide).
