ABC Book and how it all started?
The Tamil students community is created by the Tamil students from the whole Netherlands and exist from 2003. One of the users of this Tamil students community is the CEO and Founder U.K. Sivanathan himself where he gives advices from technical pc solutions and more. He also motivated the students to write collectively a book about war and tsunami from their point of view but more fictive then the real facts. The goal of this book is to recreate their feelings and motions through this book where other students can read and feel more or less their co-students thoughts about their country and their version of war and the tsunami disaster. The characters of the book contain not more then fictive characters. Copyright of this book is beholden by the Siva for Kids Foundation and prophetic any others to copy and to use it for any commercial purposes. Surprisingly the interest to write this book was very strong and every end of the week a new chapter of the Art of BEING a Child book takes places and you can already read it here but only the first 4 chapters. ABC book is taking step by step to a unique book where we all can be proud of at the end. This project is specially dedicated to the children of Sri Lanka who lost their lives due to the Tsunami disaster and according to the plan this book will be published on the one year memorial day of the tsunami victims. Where and when, you will read it at the agenda of the Siva for Kids Foundation soon.
Siva for Kids Foundation wants to thank the Tamil students community for their motivation and willing to do this unique action and contribute the profit of the book sale to one of the good will project of Siva for Kids Foundation. Therefore S4K Foundation decided to give a place in the Hall of special contribution. Thank you and good luck writing and making a story to save other children.

The road was straight and long till it fainted at the horizon. The palm trees were lining up both side of the road waving to each other as they got stroked by the coastal wind. The sun was shinning so sharp as usual. The heat damp was dancing like a curtain especially it was visible on the black road of “thaaru”.
Nanthini was stirring down on the black feather of “Kakam” which was caught between a stone and an old peace of t-shirt beside the road. It looked like the black feather was trying to get loose of this temporary prison. She kept stirring on the feather. It was a fight between Nanthini and her patient. She hoped that the simple weightless beautiful black feather will finally get the strength of the wind so it would get loose.
She looked up on the road and down again kept the focus on the fight of feather. Nanthini turned 8 last month. “Nanthini, Where are you?” called the father while getting into the house of palm leafs and madder. “What Appa?” running from the back side of the garden. “Come here and see who is here” responded her father with a smile. Nanthini came inside the house and she started to scream out of joy, “Oh Ammaaa Ammaaa look what Appa got here!!!” her eyes was shinning like the brightest moon, her smile showed unknown happiness. She can not stop running back to her mum who was busy washing the baby clothes at the “Keni”, the Keni was 6 meter deep and a natural source of pure water which fill the water during the afternoon and get almost empty at noon. You can see clearly the pure water and 3 turtles sitting on one of the stones. The little turtle is so active that it usually clump op on the older ones but coz of the small size of the stone makes both of the turtles falls back in the water again. Nanthini laugh everytime she saw it.
“What is it, Nanthini?” asked her mum a bit tired. “Amma come and see, please?” she almost pulled her mum out of the wet clothes. “Wait wait di, let me wash my hands first” smiling back to Nanthini. Her mum, Ranjani, did not know either what her husband have done this time. She did not recall anything of discussing buying any present for Nanthini's birthday. It was a hard financial time for the family since Siva got “injured” his right arm as they told Nanthini as an excuse to keep the truth away. So she knew that it could not be even new clothes or school materials even though they wished they could buy it for her. “Nanthini, Stop pulling di you know I can not walk so fast as you?!!” told Ranjani looking at her exited daughter. Nanthini was rare dark-brown of colour, long gurly hairs with two half should long fletninger. She loved the white and blue flower skirt as she wear it on her birthday. She got a golden “muukuthi” on her left nose. It was her grandmothers last present to her before she passed away 2 years ago.
Her father, Siva, brought a brown dog of 12 weeks from the market place of Killinochi. The little dog looked scared hungry but still did not loose the energy running between and behind the legs of her father. It already made special bond with Siva who already gave him some fish-bones at the market place. Nanthini could not believe her eyes when she saw that little creatue beside her father. “Athaan, is this very necessary now? We can not even have a stabile supper and how are we going to feed the dog???” asked Ranjani a bit angry and worried. “Don't worry Ranji, it is going to be alright” replied Siva back and quickly turned his focus to his enthusiastic little daughter who was already busy cuddling the brown puppy dog, who seemed to lost the tail somewhere. It looked like someone took a knife and cut off the tail of this innocent creature who is only 12 weeks on this earth. There was no wound anymore since the creature was on a huge growing but more like the dogs hairs seemed to hide the wound and it's painful past during his short lifetime. Nanthini have not noticed the missing tail coz she was not able to see any fault in this creature or anything in her life. She felt so happy and in her eyes, you can see the mirror reflection of the brownie. “Appa, what name has this dog?” asked Nanthini her father. Her father looked at Ranjani and answered back to his daughter, “What ever name you want to give him” and went to sit with his daughter and the small brown creature. “Ramo Ramou Ramu … Appa, Im going to call him Ramu … Ramu come here!” she ordered the dog so gentle that Ramu looked at her with big puppy eyes like it understood something. “Wuff wow” responded Ramu to Nanthini's order and started to lay down and lifted all legs up to show that Nanthini was the boss. “Ha ha ha” laughed Siva with a great joy and satisfaction of bringing two of the most innocent creatures together.
Nanthini couldn't wait anymore she have been waiting and waiting for the feather to get the strength but she did not had the time to wait for the restless feather which did not got the right volume of the breeze to show the victory of freedom. Nanthini did not know that the middle of the day on a sunny day like this, the coastal wind get so dry and powerless, she was not old enough to know all this complicated facts and theory of nature and life. Nanthini looked up again and saw that her parents already walked a long distance further then her on the side of that big wide long road. She knew if she delayed further more with her observation she will get a knock on her head by her mother so she was getting more restless waiting and loosing the last drop of hope for the feather's struggle.
Suddenly she felt a strange smell in the air, a rare smell of cold wind was blending in the atmosphere almost like a warning sign silent before the storm. She looked up again for her parents if there were turning back to check up on her to her surprise she noticed that the sudden cold wind gave the freedom to the feather. It started to make the travel of it's own on the road again when Nanthini picked it up in her hand.
The feather was long, shinny and so perfectly black, she put her finger on the top of the black feather which reminded her of her Grandmother, who used to put any feather in her ears digging all noon till her father pick it away from her in case of she hurt herself. Somehow the feather gave Nanthini the secure and the warm feelings which her Granny used to give her with her hand strokes over her head and fairy tales.
“Nanthini?” asked her mum without looking back at her daughter. “What, Ammaa?” asked Nanthini while hiding the feather behind her hands and run quickly close behind her mother and her father. “Do you want to drink something?” asked her mum, while taking a bottle of water.
“No, I'm not so thirsty, Amma!” answered Nanthini back scared of getting caught for picking up a “kaka-feather” from the road.
Siva looked a bit nervous at her daughter coz they have now reached a small side road of the long wide road which was fainting away at the horizon. The small side road reminded him about something which he wanted his daughter would forget. Everytime he passed the small side road he get a cold and bitter feeling. It came over him like a dark grey shadow which cover the sky before the big monsoon rain start. Unluckily he took Nanthini with him that day.
A day like this sunny and silent Nanthini were going to be 5 years old so Siva took his daughter in front of his old cycle. “Appa, where are we going?” asked a small Nanthini while sitting on the old cycle. “We are going today to “Murugan Kovil”, Nanthini kuddi!” answered Siva while smiling to him coz it made him so proud that his daughter already start talking like an old granny. “But why, Appa?” asked Nanthini while turning up to see her fathers face. “Hmm to pray for God that Amma would be better again?” answered Siva calm and controlled. “What is wrong with Amma, Appa?” asked Nanthini without a break. “Look there Nanthini, a “Kurangu”!!!” pointed Siva at a small kurangu which was happy with chewing an old rotten mango while sitting on a “kelai” of a big strong “mambala-maram”. “Where Appa?” asked Nanthini while her eyes were so exited about searching the whole tree. “Yes, Appa, I see it I see it” said Nanthini while pointing the Kurangu at the big tree. “Ha ha ha” laughed Siva without any reason in his mind. He was so happy that he could cycle the whole world around with his princess on his old cycle.
“Siva anna Siva anna, wait pannungo!” shouted the four friends, Maran, 17, Kamal 19, Sethu 21 and the short fat funny Theepan 19. Siva looked back and slowed the cycle coz he just passed the side road. He was surprised to see them coz he didn't noticed any of them while he passed the side road called Kurangu-veethi he never found out who was so smart enough to give a monkey name to a street. The name of the side road was imprinted in his memory as long as Siva could walk and talk so he never thought about it. “Where were you guys hiding?” asked Siva curiously and surprised. “No no Maranum, Kamalum, Sethum were just trying out the velinaaddu peedi, Siva anna?” joked Theepan as usual. “Dei Theep, Poda go and tell the whole city about our profession, mandai kalanda ivan, Siva anna”, joked Sethu, the tall one back. “Hi Nanthini kuddy !!!” tickled Maran and made a kurangu face to Nanthini. “ha ha ha ha” laughed Nanthini and started to tickle Maran back from the cycle

Chapter 2 - by Pen Puraa
Ha ha ha laughed Nanthini. Siva stars smiling. Every wane starts to laugh also. You don't have the words for it. No No Theepan mama…hahahaha no no laughed Nanthini.
Hij Datha how are you vroeg Nanthini. Hm fine fine zei Sunder mama. How is my Nandu kuty. Fine Datha. Sunder uncle oru second wait panugo. We gaan even bidden, we komen zo terug zei Siva. Mensen vluchten schreeuwend weg.

Appa Sethu mama daar riep Nanthini. Waar vroeg Siva. Daar wees Nanthini links.
MY GOD dacht hij.
Chapter 3 - by qanezh
Mounroad was a big long road which leads to Murugan kovil and almost 1,5 km from there you will have the 1st side cross road called Peedi vidi. Kurangu vithi which was the 3rd side road to mounroad was older then Peedi vidi. Around Peedi vidi was the only place where both side of the road were no trees, but you see only rice fields as eyes can see, almost 2KM wide.
Kamal could not believe his friend is lying their without moving. Theepan's eyes were still opened and facing the sky, he didn't breath but his body was still warm and his clothes were dirty of mud. It looked like few people have dragged him out of the ricefield.
You could hear that Kamal's lips were mumbling something “Theepan Theepan elumpu theepa …” his eyes were so tired almost fainting but still he wanted to get close to him, his childhood friend, Theepan, the funny, fat and short guy, but couldn't coz his leg's were cold and felt so heavy because of the bullet, which was still in his left leg.
“Periyamma, I see Tank track on the side of the road!?? What the hell happened here??” asked Siva Theepans moeder. “Aiyoooooo naan enna seivan Siva, I heard the news from Maran and came here just before you, I wish those devils dead only dead DEAD” she said screaming in her dark sadness. “I saw an army tank and 5-6 soliders behind it for 15minutes ago going to south Mounroad, Siva” said Kamal's vader having his son resting on his arms. Siva was furious and angry in his soul but kept him calm infront of Kamal. “Kamal nee sollu-pa inka enna nadanthathu?” asked Siva calm. “I saw you guys just for an hour ago at Kurangu vithi and it's only 2rd streets away from here?” asked Siva indirectly. Kamal was not listning any of the things, he was so tired coz he lost a lot of blood from his shoulder and leg. He wanted to respond but he couldn't, also he was not able to hear anything clear. He kept watching Theepan's face which kept looking the sky. Kamal kept looking at the eyes of his friend hoping somehow he might move his eye browes, somehow show him hope of life.
“Dei, Theepa unga periyanna entha naaddila asyl adichu kaappi kadai poddu irrukkaru? Ollandu or Hollandu?” asked Maran a bit teasing at Theepan, who was the youngest of all the four friends but the tallest of all of them at his age of 17. “Intha lollu thane, watch your mouth, you giraf, because your oncle got scrued by the agent instead of sending him to Canada he end up somewhere in Mozambique, right???” asked him teasingly back and start to laugh Theepan back and was going to say something more nasty before Sethu stopped them. “ Dei dei summa irungada koncham” stopped Sethu the eldest of all and asked “Kamal mahane, Siva anna ini thirimpi varukirathukku rompa neram aakum ippa antha cygnetta edura pocket-ila irunthu ...” asked Sethu.
The four friends were walking on the side of the along the mounroad from Kurangu vithi. Since they met each other on the first school day, they were friends for life time. Siva was their role mo
del at school he was the one with cool hair cut like Kamal hasan. He was the best in cricket and these four kids used to go every break of the school to watch the senior students take on each other on the 1 hour lunch break. Siva was the hero of cricket and also the popular student of the school so it was very natural that these four fans of Siva later also became loyal friends on later years.
Kamal took the cygnet slowly out of the right pocket and showed them. “I found it behind a tree while you guys were smoking Marlboro” said Kamal a bit proud and Theepan could not wait to crap it and ran away. “Nee inikku expired kolampu daa panni” said Kamal loud and ran after him while the others start to laugh. “Dei lets see how fast you can ran, bimbo” laughed and showed the cygnet and put it around his neck. Theepan knew that Kamal had astma and can not run faster then him that's one of the reasons why he doesn't stand near those who smokes. “Pok pok pok pok” Theepan did like a chicken while he was running backside only 6 meters further from Kamal. Kamal was tired after running more then 100 meters and was trying to slow down.
Suddenly Kamal's eyes got bigger of fear. A fear which only could cause of the damn cynet he took from one of the tree at Kurangu vithi. His friend had it around his neck. His mouth start to open he felt so kramped like he wanted to say something. Theepan saw his open mouth and big fearing eyes. His friends who were behind Kamal were pointing at something. There were pointing at something behind him. Theepan turned around he was under the shadow of a big tree which stood 2 meter away from the mounroad. This “ Puliyamaram” was the only tree and only big tree on the whole area of Pithi vithi also between Pithi vithi and Kurangu vithi. He turned around and faced a big Army Tank which stood still. Suddently the soldiers got alerted and took their guns and pointed at Theepan and Kamal. “Commander Tunga, we ‘ve got company, Sir” said one of the 6 land soldiers and out of the bush came Commander Tunga closing his pants. “How many time did I told you not to disturb me while I piss, you moron?” screamed an irritated Tunga. Tunga was black and ugly commander of 36 years old, full of pimples on his face. When Tunga wake up instead of brushing teeth he eat “paakku” so when he talk or ask something usually he spits and worst is it when he spits pakku like a lama does. Mawatha the lieutenant who gets screamed at said “Sorry Sir” and looked at the friends who now gathered together.
Kamal only looked at the cygnet while thinking “Ohh noo” … “Ohh noo” “Why did I found that cygnet? … What have I done” … hoping that no one would see the cynet which hang so obviously around the neck of Theepan, who seems to tremble. Sethu try to come infront of Theepan to hide something but a gun was pointed straight in his forth head before he could take a step. “Hands up all of you” screamed C. Tunga wildly so even the birds from the trees flied away. “Check up these bastards” said C. Tunga to his soldiers and the soldiers obeyed right away. “Nothing Sir, we found nothing on them, Sir” replied the soldiers while C. Tunga took a Gold Leaf cigarette and fired it while leaning on the Big Green Monster called Millitary Army Tank. “What? Nothing on them?” asked Tunga surprisingly. “Sir, we are only students” said Sethu calmly. “Yes, Sir, we are just going to Murugan Tempel to pray for our exams” said Maran innocently. Tunga was just quiet and listening to all while smoking his Gold Leaf, he kept looking up at the tree. Theepan already sweat like a pig of the fear that cygnet chain still hang upon him and didn't dare to remove it in front of the surrounded soldiers who still pointed guns at them. Tunga took a deep inhale of the smoke and came slowly to Maran and looked straight into his eyes “So you were all going to Tempel?” asked curiously and walked behind Theepan while Sethu try to get infront of Theepan even though he had a gun pointed at his forehead. Theepan felt a cold metal on his neck behind and the metal thing slowly took the cygnet chain around it and it moved slowly the chain to front where the cygnet bullet came infront of the face of Theepan. “Are you still going to Tempel?” asked Tunga one more time very loud and scary. Theepan looked so scared and fearfull that sweat drops were already falling from his forehead and eyebrows. A big punch of the backside of the machine gun went direct in the left cheek of Theepan “Aaahh ammaaaa!!” screamed Theepan while he felt down and kept touching his left eyebrow which seems to burn like hell, the blood was streaming slowly down on his face.
“Sir, please don't hit him” begged Sethu with a calm voice but Tunga was not the guy who stops something he begins so slowly he started to kick Theepan in his legs, while the three friends are being hold in line to watch. The rest of the soldiers just watched at the act of the ugly dark commander while one of the soldiers called Mawatha the lieutenant felt sorry for Theepan. “Tell me where you were really going?” asked Tunga Theepan who closed his face with his hands. Theepan couldn't handle the pain and kept screaming. Sethu was so helpless even though he felt like the leader of his group he was not able to lift one hand infront of this army who seems to get the wrong idea who they were.
“I will tell you where we were going, Sir” said Kamal deliberately because he couldn't take it anymore. Tunga turn around with a devilish smile in his face and saw Kamal who stood with a dedicated face to save his friend Theepan. “Tell me where?” asked Tunga. “Let my friends go and I will tell you” said Kamal without any respect for Tunga. “What are you doing, Kamal?” asked Theepan surprised and try to stand up on his feet. “Ithuthaan nallathu Theepan, summa iruda” said Kamal. “Sir, my friends are just lying, we found the cygnet chain under the tree today” said Sethu and try to make all these misunderstanding all right again. “You found this today? Do I look like a MORON?” asked Tunga louder then before. Tunga gave a real hard punch on the stomach of Sethu and took his Pistol and gave a hard punch on this head. All went black for Sethu. “Sethuuuuu” screamed Maran and kneeled down to see if everything was alright while Tunga went back to Theepan who was still recovering from the kicks of Tunga. “Hey you fat pig, I give you 10 SECONDS to tell me everything about your group and where they hide” asked Tunga and pointed his pistol in his head.
Theepan did not know what to do or what to say he only knew that the cygnet chain was found under the tree near Kurangu vithi while they had a package of foreign cigarettes which they try to smoke in their own secret meeting place, where they used to talk about the latest gossip from the village and school girls. Theepan never knew that this would happen not this way where one of his best friends was unconscious. He wished their role model Siva anna was here to save them, he used to save them out of every problem they had, in school or in the village, for every little naughty things they did, Siva used to take care of it. “Vidunga avanga vajasaththaandi thane neenga ellarum vantheenga, naan solluran” Siva used to use these words so many times to get the angry persons eased and when the persons are gone he used to blink at the 4 boys and say “Avar unga vajasila seitha leelaikalai sonna unga vajiru thaangathungo” then he used to laugh and reveal them the foolish story behind the angry persons. Siva anna come to save us, we need you now said the eyes of Theepan.
Sethu was still black out and Maran was helpless only trying to wake Sethu op. Tunga seems to enjoy playing Cat and mouse's with these four friends together with his soldiers he felt so mighty coz of the T55 TANK he had in his command. Even his soldiers under him was not aware of what he can say or do and most of them do not want to get in his way only obeyed what he said. Tunga felt so powerful in this position. He felt like the master he never was when he was young and got humiliated by school friend's coz he always said did things which were not normal.
Suddently the eyes of Tunga got sharper and devilish he put his Pistol back in the holder and went to Theepan pulled his hairs and pointed at the rice field “Is it there they are hiding?”asked Tunga loudly the other soldiers started to look at each other like what was wrong with Tunga but didn't dared to go against him. “Tell me is it at the end of the rice field?” asked and pulled his hairs stronger so Theepan's neck stratched a bit behind. Tunga pulled his head behind by pulling his hairs behind he kept pulling so hard that Theepan was just biting the pain and kept quiet like Tunga was the dumbest person on this earth.
“Go and call them” said Tunga and let go of him. “Where should I go?” asked Theepan back at Tunga. “Go start walking you fat pig towards the rice field to the bushes at the end” kept pushing him. “Gooo” said Tunga loudly and took his pistol of the holder. “If you don't start walking, I will blow your head of!!!” Tunga started to point the pistol on his head. “No sir, there is no one there at the end of the rice field” said Kamal. “Why you doing this to my friend?” asked Kamal with a bit anger in his voice. “Because he is a tiger and tiger belong in the rice field” answered Tunga back and pushed him in the rice field. “You also go together with him now” and started to point the gun at him. Kamal didn't know what was happening with this Tunga commander of army.
“Start walking!!!” said Tunga and pushed the 2 friends while Maran was with Sethu who was still unconscious. “Theepan, enna da ithu” asked Kamal and started to walk together with Theepan on the rice field. The sweat drops began to stream out of both friends coz they knew something bad gonna happen.
After 100 meter walking away from the road on the rice field Theepan and Kamal started to look back at Sethu who was not seem to walk up and they saw Maran was begging Tunga to not do anything to his friends. Tunga's eyes were full of dark sharpness. “Senawa!! Turn the canon!!!” said Tunga loudly. Senawa the Tank operator heard his commander and started to turn the tank canon pipe. “NO NO” screamed Maran grying his heart out. Theepan and Kamal got a chock when they heard the scream of Maran and stand still while turning back to see what was happening. The canon pipe of T55 TANK looked so devilish with its black hole it seemed like it has destroyed lots of people and their homes. It turned so slowly with a metal sound which had the sound of death written all over it. Maran kept looking at Tunga “PLEASE SIR I BEG YOU” gried Maran and went even to the soldiers to ask for help. Maran only saw helpless soldier's eyes that felt the sadness in his grying eyes but couldn't do anything much then standing still and waiting for the next order of Tunga. The canon stopped targeting the 2 friends on the rice field.
“Theepan engala kollai seiporandaaa” said Kamal with a feared voice. “Nee oodu naan varala” said Theepan with a fearless voice. “Nee varama naan enka porathuda” asked Kamal back at his friend and stayed beside him. Tunga was already seeing them blown away from the earth and see the symbol of cygnet chain would spread out to the rice field. He had the power so he would use every single of them to make his inner desire to become true. “Fire now!!!” ordered Tunga to the T55 TANK operator very loud. Theepan and Kamal heard it now they have to do something “Periyanna Im so sorry that I could not come to run your shop in Holland” said Theepan very quiet and looked at his friend Kamal who did not want to run because of him. “Dei unga akka kalyanam innum 10 naal thanda irukku, nee ooodi poda, Kamal” said Theepan and tried to hint Kamal to run into one of the bushes further deeper in the rice field. Kamal thought of his big sister and his parents and the tears started to fall from his eyes. “Poda madaiya” said Kamal kept looking at the monster of a Tunga who kept yelling at the mounroad side.
“SHOOT BLOW THEM AWAY” ordered Tunga again but the T55 TANK operator did not respond to his commander. There was still for seconds. Nobody knows what was happening then the uppder deck of the T55 TANK went open. “Sir I can not do this, there are just innocent children” said Senawa which was older then Tunga himself. Senawa was a grey haired older guy who also had brothers at the age of these friends and he couldn't just close his eyes and blow these poor guys just like he used to blow the houses and buildings.
“WHAT?” screamed Tunga commander and pulled him out of the T55 TANK. “Are you disobeying my order???” asked Tunga very loud as usual. “No Sir, I don't but these are small young children.” said Senawa right back at his face. Tunga saw the other soldiers they all looked down like they all agreed with the older and wiser Senawa. Tunga got so angry and in the blind anger he took the A47 of one of the soldiers and..!
“Sethu mama, what happened?” asked Nanthini at Sethu who walked with her to her home. “Nothing Nanthini kutty” said Sethu and try to smile at Nanthini who had so many questions in her young innocent age. “Yes I know Sethu mama, the bad people shoot on Theepan and Kamal, right?” asked Nanthini again.
