Apple aunty took care of the little ones. She survived the tsunami but all of the young ones died.

The shadow of the mango tree was the best place to sleep and a cool playground for the small ones. They had no other facilities than playing together on the mat.

The children needed a loving person to take care of them, but there were 113 children and only 8 employees. They had been through hardships as well. So they did not have the energy to comfort the young ones.

Abirami had a physical handicap and the orphanage did not have the economy to do any kind of medical treatment. She also died in the tsunami.

The old ones had to take part in the duties which had to be done during the day, but only few were mature to take those responsibilities.

December was a rainy month and the rain poured into the kitchen from the wholes in the roof. We had to rebuilt the kitchen in a very primitive way as there was nothing but wood and stones to build from.

The school students were able to concentrate on their studies after the young ones went to bed. Mostly they studied very late. They woke up before the others and continued their studied. There were no other rooms.

Nursery was the naughty ones. Here they are waiting for a bath. They also did not survive the tsunami.
