ROC Amsterdam donates computers and printer

Posted on 28 January 2007 by S4K

On the 28th of January 2007 ROC Amsterdam ICT dept. of the school donated 10 PCs (+accessories) and 1 printer (View Gallery) for an upcoming ICT project in Paramaribo, Suriname. This PC4KIDS Project would be the first one of 3 PC4KIDS Projects of SIVA4KIDS.org in South America where a similar project is also in plan to be realized in Colombia for 642 children by  the support of a global ICT Company, which is also located in Amsterdam. The SIVA4KIDS foundation has realized similar projects for tsunami affected school children in Sri Lanka (2005) and in India (2006).

PC4KIDS SurinameThe PC4KIDS Project in Suriname is planned to be realized in coming June 2007. This is a very unique project since the project coordinator is not only a volunteer of SIVA4KIDS.org but also the ICT Teacher of the ROC Amsterdam School and the same volunteer went to the same basic school in Paramaribo during his childhood. Therefore the foundation is very enthusiastic about announcing another optimistic project which is coordinated by the Dutch Hindustan ICT teacher, Ashok Joerawan, who was born in Suriname. Siva for Kids Foundation is responsible for the transportation and monitoring of the progress of this project, which we expect to support the ICT development of the 196 children in the basic school in Paramaribo.

We are also very proud to announce when this project has been completed then SIVA4KIDS.org will be reaching a unique target of helping 1.000 children in 2 continents (Asia and South America) and 3 different third world countries like India, Sri Lanka and Suriname. All this was possible only because of the hardwork and positive actions from our volunteers and sponsors so far.

SIVA4KIDS.org is hoping to find companies which will be interested in supporting and sponsoring this project  in order to help the children of Suriname in Summer. If you are interested in joining this project as a volunteer, support or sponsoring this project, please email: info@siva4kids.org for more details. Thank you very much.

SIXDE6REES Networking Day in Amsterdam

Posted on 04 February 2012 by S4K

ImageOneWorld.nl celebrated the 5th year anniversary with a networking workshops among her 120 membership NGO’s from The Netherlands. The workshop contained a seminar of how we will¬†network in 2020 and 10 practical “network-shops”. The title relates to the theory where every human beings on this earth are only separated 6 persons from each other; The Six Degrees of Separation-Theory.

ImageThe Networking Day took place on the 27th April 2006, at Tropenmusem of Amsterdam, where more then 300 participants from companies and NGO’s¬†were there to network¬†regarding their goal and mission.¬†One of the seminar holder about the future network theory was the futurology Paul Ostendorf. The chairman of this seminar day was¬†Sander de Kramer the head of redaction of the Rotterdam Straatmagazine. What¬†was interesting for SIVA4KIDS.org which got recently membership of OneWorld Foundation¬†was to get to know the different NGO’s and stimulate the co-operation and experiences between the development organizations.

Ceo and founder of SIVA4KIDS.org U.K. Sivanathan was there personally to network and introduce the successful, young and motivated NGO SIVA4KIDS.org to the interested partner organizations and also to the Director of OneWorld.nl Pieter van Lier by presenting the relations gift “Official Postcards” of SIVA4KIDS Foundation. He also took the time to thank the great network opportunity for a new NGO¬†like SIVA4KIDS.org and also to tell the successful stories behind the young and motivated NGO SIVA4KIDS.org ¬†which is continuously supported by International companies, organizations,¬†¬†national & international ¬†volunteers and artists¬†through out the world.

ImageThe Seminar was an interesting time where there were opportunity to learn and discuss the importance of networking to get an efficient results in the future. One of the most important message from the seminar was that there are enough work to do on this planet, so much that if it was possible to united all the NGO’s and national resources together it would not be enough to complete the huge work ahead of us to fight the poverty and develop the third world countries. Therefore through efficient network and co-operation between NGO’s, companies, institutions and government bodies we are able to make a positive contribution to the future and our mother earth.
